Nowadays, people find themselves living far away from their loved ones. It is not unusual to have a friend or family member living across the country or even on another continent. Online florists are a convenient way to send flower arrangements anywhere you need them to go. With such a wide variety of selections, using the Internet to order flowers gives you freedom of choice.

If we have someone special in San Diego, and we want to send flowers to them, all we need to do is search San Diego florists on the internet. Another method you could use to do this would be a visit to your local florist. There, you can choose your flower gift from many standard arrangements that other florists participating can provide. The local florist can do this by using the online service to locate San Diego florists who also participate. This way they can find a florist close to the point of delivery, and the gift will be delivered by that florist in San Diego. Simple and easy!

One more method for doing it is to visit the site of your preferred flower shop. There you can select a floral present for the person you want it to go to. The store’s owner will arrange to have the blossoms delivered by one of the San Diego florists. And you can do all of this from the comfort and convenience of your own location.

Optimize For Google - Getting To The Top Of The Search Engines

Marketing No Comments
by Noel Swanson

How is it done?

What I want to do here is to strip out all the nonsense, myths and hype that is out there so that you can develop a sensible strategy for promoting your website.

First of all, what puts a page at the top of the rankings?

The reality is that all the search engines use their own, top secret, algorithms to rank sites. Their goal is to deliver relevant, accurate, and up-to-date information to their searching public. To achieve this, they are in a constant war against SEO experts who would seek to skew those rankings so as to put their clients at the top.

There are two “strategies” for getting top rankings:

“Black Hat Strategies” and “White Hat Strategies”

White Hat optimization is designed to deliver accurate, timely, relevant and quality information - essentially working WITH the Search Engines.

Black Hat techniques are ways of cheating that manipulate loopholes and other cheating techniques. These techniques do have the potential to work but do not last for very long as Google programmers are quick to fix the loopholes and ban you at the same time.

No one knows for certain what ranking factors work, but these are the ones that have been well proven, have survived the test of time, and make intuitive sense, given the goal of the search engines themselves:

1. High quality content relevant to your theme. The more content present on a site, the better it will be recognized. Search engines use AI programs known as “latent semantic indexing” programs to decipher what websites are about, as opposed to just what keywords are within the content. Keywords still play a vital role but now other content that relates to your theme is also relevant as it is now taken into account by the artificial intelligence.

2. Incoming Links. Links from “bad neighborhoods” get you very little in the way of Google Page Rank. These links from Free-For-All (FFA) sites and link farms are not very well looked upon. Though Google does not penalize you for such incoming links, they definitely do not reward you for such. Links from authority sites, on the other hand, are worth quite a bit. Theme related sites are also quite worthy, ie if you have a computer gaming site, other gaming sites linking to you will be worth more than a website for household cleaners. To see how valuable a site roughly is in relation to others, see it’s Google Page Rank, the higher it is, the more valuable the site. Eventually, Google Page Rank will probably become specific to themes, meaning you could be ranked highly for one theme and rather low for another.

3. Sites that are older -PR generally rises in time if all factors are equal. Sites that have been around for longer are more valuable than new ones due to this.

4. New sites - New sites generally get initial priority as they may have some recent, hot news, which is after all what Search Engine’s are looking to deliver. Links pointing to new sites are also worthwhile as they may indicate recent news on the site being linked to.

5. Outgoing links - Too many links can be a bad thing, especially when linking to bad neighborhoods. Though bad links coming in are not penalized, ones going out certainly are. Links out to authority sites are quite worthwhile.

6. Keywords - Set your goal to get ranked for specific keywords before all else. Tag the name of your area or town to the end of the keyword if you are a local business. Keywords vary in competition. Some much more than others.

7. Original Content. Don’t just use the same article everyone else is using. Search Engines are quick to filter out content that they find multiple times. One needs unique content, both on sites linking in, as well as your own. Search Engine’s don’t want the public to find the same information in multiple places.

Financial planning can be done in many different ways. You can go the old-fashioned route and use register and ball point pen. You can purchase financial software for his or her PC. There is still another option. Online tools are user friendly for personal financing. Do online tools work?

There are many different tools accessible online to assist you and manage your budget. An easy tool for you to use is the free service of your bank. It is online banking. Prior to the Internet, the only way to check your accounts was to wait until bank statement was delivered via the mail or go to the bank and have a bank teller assist you with your account.

Online banking gives you the ability to transfer funds between accounts, verify if a specific check has paid on your account, and set up automatic payments for bills. You can view different interest rates and investment options that the bank offers. Having the ability to see what is going on with your finances is a powerful tool when attempting to save money.

Lets say you are on a business trip and want to check your finances or see how much you’ve used of the money budgeted for the vacation.

The software allow you to monitor your spending while you shop and not until the end of the month. The premise is that at the end of the month the over spending is already done. So, finding the key problems as they occur instead of after they have occurred can save more money every month.

Did you know that your money is tracked while you use your credit cards and bank cards? This system allows real time download of your information from banking institutions. Online payment of your bills is another option you can use with the Mvelopes service. This package offers live customer support and budget coaching for people using their system. I have not tried it myself but there have been a lot of testimonials. The essential thing to remember is that online tools work. Ones that cost money offer a bit more features but it’s the person using the tools who dictates how compatible the system can be. There are financial calculators and forums online to aid anyone looking to change their financial situation. If you can be committed to budgeting, the free tools will help complete your financial goals.

The Economy and Real Estate, The Perfect Storm.

Real Estate No Comments
by Steve Simon

The price of diesel is now upwards of $4.00 a gal.at some truck stops in the North East of the USA. The ripples this is sending through the other sectors of our economy is just now starting to become visible. The trouble started much earlier but it seemed invisible to the everyday folk, that really just saw this as a “Gas Price Problem”. Now the secondary and terciary industries are obviously showing the strain. The airlines (never fully recovered from 9/11) are in an Emergency Room, the trucking industry is in chaos and the support industries for these giants are being beaten down to levels that they have not seen before!

Consider: .the entire State of Florida’s work force is threatened almost everyday with job cuts and loss of benefits and positions. the Tampa bay mortgage base now has double the homes in the ranks of foreclosure as it did in 2007 (which was already a horrible year), and I am talking about the non-sub prime loans! Almost 3% of the more strictly underwritten loans are in default (60 days or more). If you factor in that over 20% of the sub-prime loans are in some serious stage of default you can see the effect is going to do more than ripple!

The banks tighten credit in response.

Less people can qualify.

Even those who could qualify are scared that the real bottom is much lower.

This further depresses the buyer pool, thus flattening the market even more.

The buyers that cannot meet their obligations, can’t sell.

The numbers of buyers that can’t meet their obligation soars, because their totals are being fed by dropping prices, tighter credit, and now job loss in peripheral industry.

The foreclosures add to the glut of available properties.

The slow business climate prevents the normal acquisition rate of real estate by business as the climate has them operating in a much more conservative fashion.

The Perfect Storm!

If you’re looking to blame someone read elsewhere I choose not to blame, merely to inform and repair.

The answer must come with immediate legislation offering future credits for the most efficient of the hybrid vehicles.

This legislation must also spread to solar products for the home for both heating and cooling.

The auto industry will take heed that the selling models will be those with credits, and that will sound the death bell for the Giant Gas Guzzling SUV.

Congress must resist the urge to help out those that recklessly signed up for sub-prime loans that are now in trouble; rather they (the lawmakers) must show courage and let the market forces of supply and demand work themselves out.

The real estate market must be allowed to work as it was created, freely and without the well intentioned but usually ineffective direction of the Government.

If all of the above takes place we can slowly work ourselves out of this debacle we now find ourselves in.

I have the utmost confidence that we will; but I hope the lessons will be learned:

Fossil fuel is running out, we must shift to other sources, and this shift can only be accomplished by incentive programs so that there are concrete bankable reasons for doing so immediately.

Bailout of the banker ( do you remember the Savings and Loan Crisis?) begets bailout of the banker!

Incentives to do the right thing, are the right thing!

The Radical Islamics does not need weapons of mass destruction to hurt us.
