You are aiming to help alleviate the stresses and strains that modern living is placing upon the body. In this article, we offer a number of good massage tips that can help to ensure that the person having the treatment finds it enjoyable as well as safe.

1. It is important that the area you use for the massage therapy sessions is one that will enable the person to relax in. If you can ensure that, the room is warm and use soothing colors on the walls. Also, if you can have the facility to play some kind of music, which will further help the person to relax whilst undergoing the massage. But only put the music on if they allow you to.

2. Once each session has been completed you need to make sure the area is clean and ready for the next one. If you need to then change the sheets or towels after each session has ended. Again a person is more likely to trust you if they know that you care about how they are to be treated and you care about the environment in which you work.

3. Although you may not think this is important it is a good idea that you are aware of how your breath smells. Remember you are going to be in close contact with the person you are giving the massage to. Certainly, they will find it far more difficult to relax if they can smell your breath. So before each session it is a good idea to just pop in a few breath mints or if you have just eaten then clean your teeth.

4. It is important to remember that some of the people you are going to be giving massage therapy sessions to are going to be self conscious with regards to the way that their bodies look. These are going to be people who may be unwilling to remove their clothing initially so use techniques that does not require them to do this. Only after they have spent some time with you, should you suggest that they remove items of clothing in order to feel the full effects and benefits from the massage that you are giving to them.

5. At the start of each massage therapy session you should only be using light pressure on the person being treated. Then as they become more relaxed and pliable so the amount of pressure you apply to the areas to be treated can be increased. This will in turn be more beneficial to those areas of the body that require the treatment.

6. When carrying out massage therapy sessions you should alter which part of your hand you use for doing the massage with. If not you may find that your hands and yourself tire very quickly and so the effectiveness of the massage therapy will be loss.
