The word iPod is quite regularly heard around the media and society. Technology influences today’s generation to such an extent that everyone from young to old would understand the name iPod. However, if you are in that very small minority that does not, it is about time you found out.
Ipod come in many different colours, sizes and styles, allowing you to find one which matches your personality and your needs. The main function of the iPod is originally as a music player. It enables you to carry around your music and listen with ease, but even from its original incarnation it has had other features, such as an increasing memory to allow you to carry files also.
With its built in rechargeable battery and the availability of different sized memory, the iPod is like carrying around a small computer. With the increase of memory, the price of the iPod also increases, and as it is a rechargeable battery, it should be remembered that it can become costly to replace when the battery begins to run out. The iPod also features a touch wheel, meaning that most of the action does not need different buttons to be performed.
After the original the iPod has been re-released in the form of the shuffle, which is a much smaller rectangular version, small enough to easily fit and hide within your palm, the shuffle, which is much slimmer than the original version, and very much like the smaller iPod mini and finally, the newest incarnation - the iPod touch, and the I-Phone.
The iPod touch is a version which has a touch screen almost the entire size of the machine itself. This allows for you to watch the music videos and movies on your touch with a much bigger and better screen. And then to the I-Phone. Apple having teamed up with 3G have now created a phone which allows you to have all the benefits of an iPod, combined with phone benefits, and also the ability to easily connect with the internet and instantly download music, movies, and applications from the Apple, iTunes one store.
