Help! How Can I Get Articles for My Site?
Posted by: Nicole Dean in Marketing, tags: MarketingAs an online business owner, you may already know that content makes the world go round. You need content for your website, more articles for your weekly ezine, and even more content if you’re planning to do article marketing to get free advertising for your website. So, before your fingers curl in terror, let me give you a few ideas that will save you some hassle (and some money).
But, first, why is content so important? Here are a few reasons…
First of all, the search engines reward content. They are in the information business, so they reward more quality information with more traffic to you. That’s right. The more information you put on your website or blog, the more they’ll send you visitors. (Note, I said “quality” content?)
Second, your readers are looking for quality content. When they land on your website or blog and find it, they’ll stick around. Not only that, but they are much more likely to tell their friends, recommend your website on forums, and stumbleupon it. You’ll have a fan for life.
Third, providing quality content establishes you as an expert in whatever your chosen field is. The more value you provide to readers, the more they begin to look at you as their information source. You’ll start receiving requests for interview and joint ventures as your arsenal of information grows. You’re reading my article right now, right? Hopefully you’ll remember me as an expert in content.
So, how do you get content for your site? Basically, when looking for content, you have a few options.
1. Write the articles yourself. This is a wonderful option for some of your content. You can choose to write some of it yourself. However, there are options below that will enable you to attract quality content to your website without having to write all of it yourself. (Some you can just edit and use.) Using a mixture of the options will provide you with more freedom to grow without feeling trapped to your laptop all day.
2. Get a Great Writer. A ghostwriter is a freelancer who writes for you but you take the credit. There are many sites on the web where you can find writers. Start by searching google.com, or go to sites like elance.com or shelancers.com to look around. Most biographies are written by ghostwriters. Almost every politician on the planet uses a speech writer. When time is short, get a ghostwriter to give your project a quick boost.
3. Team up. Either through networking or word of mouth, find other online business owners who would like to become featured columnists for your website or blog. If they are in a non-competing but related business, you can both benefit from this type of partnership. Your buddy will get free advertising and exposure and you’ll receive unique content.
4. Check out the Article Directories. Popular article directories like Isnare.com, EzineArticles.com and FreeAffiliateArticles.com offer a variety of informative articles written by respected experts in a variety of fields. You may reprint these articles on your website as long as you include the author bio that is included at the end. See the bottom of this article for an example — mine.
5. Buy PLR articles. PLR stands for Private Label Rights and it is content that you can edit freely, add your name to it, and publish it on your website or in your ezine without having to link back to anyone. The only thing with PLR is that you have to be careful to find a reputable PLR site that is offering quality content that has been professionally written and edited. If the content is sold in limited quantities, even better. Beware of fly-by-night PLR service. Try to find one that has been around for awhile and has an owner who stands by it. PLR content is affordable and flexible — two things that a busy internet marketer need for their business.
Now that you’re aware of some of the options to getting more content quickly, I hope you take advantage of these tips. It is possible to experience more freedom from your business and, at the same time, more profits. My wish for you is to work smarter, not harder — and watch your internet business grow!
