Numerous amounts of exhibitors make so many mistakes while exhibiting at trade shows. Many wonder why they see poor ROI from their trade shows. Some of the do and don’ts are4 listed below

1. When picking a booth location if you are looking for an inline booth, try to get a corner booth. This will give you two aisles to grab traffic from. Try not to get this in the corner of the convention hall. Most people tend not to walk to the corners in the show hall

2. Giveaways are always a great source for getting traffic. Make sure that your giveaways are useful and relates to your product. Always have your company name and logo on whatever give-away you select. Always talk to the attendee when providing a give-away. You what to know who you are giving items to, use this to introduce yourself and products. If you can get a business card or swipe there badge

3. Preshow marketing is a great example of getting people to show up at your booth. Send out invitation to show attendees via e-mail or regular mail. Provide some sort of raffle or give-away incentive

4. Try to locate your booth near mass traffic areas, For Example most people think the extreme front of the convention hall is best, not show the best location is in the center of the show hall or the second row one back from the front. Most people get in the show hall and never stop at the first booth; they tend to get more into the convention hall and then begin to look around. Another great location is near the food area and or believes it or not the bath rooms.

5. Try not to sit in your booth. I know it’s difficult but try not to. If you must sit use a bar stool as oppose to a regular height chair. Never sit in an entry point to your booth. Sit always off to the side. Most of the time your sale force will be standing and greeting customers, help them out order double padding for you booth. Thye will love you for it, it’s worth it

6. Try not to show too many videos. Use videos as 30 second commercials with flash and sound. Loop your videos to repeat. Keep these video simple and flashy, it should be an eye catching commercial

Times are changing; along with these changes are your compnay’s images. You currently own an older trade show booth which was great a few years ago. It is now out dated and has seen it times. What do you do? Do you refurbish the older booth or do you look for an alternative plan like having a new booth design and built? Some exhibitors are faced with this problem some time or another. Here are few reason why or why not to refurbish your booth.

If your trade show booth is overweight and cost a great deal to ship to the convention hall it’s time to refurbish or seek other alternative. One can always rent a booth if you do not have the budget for a new booth

If your existing tradeshow booth is costing a great deal to set up, it’s time to refurbish or even seek to purchase a more economical booth structure

It maybe tie to change your booth or refurbish if your trade show exhibit booth looks outdated. Your booth says a great deal about your company. Your booth should reflect your company image

If you are paying a great deal to store your older trade show booth and are not getting good use out of the booth, then it?s time to refurbish or get a booth that satisfies your company?s taste. Newer booths tend to be lighter in weight and can save a great deal in storage. If your decide to refurbish, this may eliminate some components that you no longer use or need

Not all the time it is economical for you to refurbish. There are time when the cost to refurbish is just not worth it. You may have the choice to use older existing components with newer ones to make the entire exhibit booth look new and refreshed. You may wish to get rid of all the heavier components and only keep the lighter ones. Cost and weight as well as image should be your deciding factors on whether to refurbish on not

In conclusion if the cost to refurbish does not give you the look you are after, or if it doesn’t reduce the weight, then I would suggest seeking a new booth. You are paying too much for exhibit space in order not to look your best at any trade show. I have seen companies spend minimal amount on their trade show display booth at these shows. They did not get a significant amount of return on investment only to turn around and blame it on the show. Your trade show booth as well as your marketing should take top priority do not cheat yourself. It?s probably not the show, it maybe something you did not do correctly.

In recent years exhibitors have seen the cost to attend tradeshows sky rocketed by leaps and bounds. With this said, more and more exhibitors are searching for ways to cut costs. To this end many budget conscious exhibitors are turning to companies that provide turn-key rental booth programs. This turn-key rental program affords the client the luxury of a full custom booth at about a fraction of the cost.

You can have many choices in renting a booth. The main two that exhibitors are faces with is: 1) Renting a both from the show contractors , which is usually some metal and panel system 2) Renting from some exhibit house which some time rent from a readymade inventory. Both of these ideas are great solutions but the problem with this is that you begin to look just like any other exhibitor on t he trade show floor

Renting a trade show booth do not have to be the same standard run of the mill exhibit booth. You now have a choice. Exhibit houses that specialize in rental exhibits especially custom rentals will and can provide you with a fully customized exhibit booth that is not only unique but attractive. Your get the full advantage of a standard exhibit rental program and have the look of a fully purchase custom exhibit booth

Now we find that larger companies are using these ideas of custom rentals. The cost savings are tremendous. No ownership and no responsibility of the booth items simple put is a great money savers 1) no long term storage fees 2) They has custom feel to it giving the company its own unique look.

Some of the companies that have joined the ranks of renting customized booth are now adding fully customized items with in these rental booths. This helps to set their booth off from he standard rental booth. The programs program in which exhibitors are leaning more towards is the multi-rental exhibit program.

Multi-renal programs are great programs where the exhibitor attends more that 5 shows for the year. They do not wish to own the any properties. No purchasing of components other that unique items pertaining to your product. The exhibitor commits to use the booth and or program for 5 or more shows or 3 years. The exhibitor pays no storage fees and no refurbishment fees on items in rental package. I do however recommend that you take a close look at the cost as oppose to purchasing. The cost savings may be close, especially if you wish to store and maintain your purchased exhibit booth.

Leasing your next trade show booth can also be an advantage. The main advantage is that the booth is treated as a purchase but without the high upfront cost. The tax advantages are much better than outright purchase. Today’s economy is the perfect place for leasing, especially with the low interest rates. I would recommend that you speak to your tax accountant first before getting involved in this program. Monthly payments do come with this program. You also are responsible for refurbishments as well as storage cost. One disadvantage of this program is that you may be ready for a new look before your payments are up.

Clearly there are many options whether you wish to rent, purchase or lease your next trade show booth. I clearly would explore these options carefully, one may even decide to rent first before you lease or purchase or get into a multi-rental program. Feel the rental process out first. Success is only one set away

Over the past few years we have seen a trend with exhibitors adapting fabric structures to their exhibit booth. Some of the main reasons for this are because of the technology to print on fabric as well as the low cost of shipping fabrics structures. Lowering your cost to ship and set up your booth in the convention hall is a major cost saver.

We now know that fabric structures can provide a great deal of cost savings. The main areas that cost can be saves is as follows: Labor to set up and dismantle the structure is now kept to minium as oppose to setting up large and heavy items we now need less laborers. The other cost saving are in shipping. We know that shipping cost have gone up due to the high cost of gas. Therefore cut your weight and size of shipping crates and items and your shipping cost drops. Fabric structures are light weight and take up less room to ship.

The draw back in using the typical fabric structure which is fabric stretched over aluminums structure is the handling of the fabric, which in time get dirty and worn. The cost to replace this is expensive. Well to get to my point, along come the Delta Fabric system. This system comes with an aluminum frame typical to a 4×8 panel structure but weight quite a bit less. The structure holds the fabric in place by snapping in place before the show, unless you are using both sides with fabric. Delta Metric can be shipped in one standard crate a 16 panels while the typical trade show panel structure you can only hold 8 in a crate (typical crate ). The fabric can be switched out without any big hassles, just snap it on onsite.

The typical stretch fabric system is stetched over an aluminum frame which is snapped togehter. The unit is not weight bearing which can be a drawback. The Delta Fabric system is an aluminum frame which has structural integrity. You can now attach panels on top of one another to form a 16′ structure. Graphics snap into a track on the frame system giving it a drum tight effect. They typical stretch fabric system in most cases you have to steam out the wrinkles. In this case there are no wrinkles with the Delta fabric system. The frame structure can link to one another within minutes. Frame sizes comes both standard and custom as per special order.

Build large unique and dynamic structures to match your company’s image, set it up less hassles for more on this system contact www.eldsusa.com

Trade shows are a great place to show case new and innovative products. It is also a place to meet and mingle with colleagues that are in your industry. This provides a good place for networking as well as product sales However, numerous trade show exhibitors fail to get good results from trade shows. There are many reasons for this failure at trade shows.

Some of the main reasons for failures are as follows: The exhibitor did no preshow marketing: word of caution, never exhibit at any trade show without doing preshow marketing. Do not just rely on foot traffic at the show alone, help it along. Attendees are looking for certain companies. They know of these companies through preshow marketing.

The next reason for failure is that your trade show booth is not up to par: You have to show up to a trade shows ready to do business. Your trade show booth should look the part. In other words make sure your booth is attractive and well suited for the environment. It should not just be attractive but it should attract attendees to your product.

Reason three, your company used no promotional l material: You show up to the show without any promotional material, this is a no no. Your promotional material should well thought-out; it should be DVD, Brochure or some sort of promotional items educating attendees about your company and products. How else will someone remember your company and or your product?

Improperly trained staff can also be a major factor as to why your trade show was not successful. Your booth staff should be very professional and very in turn with your product and your company. They should be well educated with all products and services you provide.

Lack of promotional give-away item can also be a determining factor why your trade show was unsuccessful. Attendees love to receive fee items, especially if they can use it in some way or another. It should relate to your product and have your contact information on it. Mouse pads were hot items at computer shows years ago. Choose something that relates to your product and make it useful

No follow up on show leads can also make a trade show event unsuccessful. Your attended the show to obtain leads and never follow it up. Follow up all leads in a timely manner. It makes no sense to go to the show and get leads and never follow them up

In most cases a disappointed trade show result comes typically when you are not doing the proper things to make it a success. I am certain that there are cases when the attendance at the event are down, but never the less you should be able to walk away knowing that you did your best at the event. If Pepsi went to an auto show and provided giveaways, I am certain they would be remembered ever though Pepsi has nothing to do with cars
