Meaning
It is a disease of men which results in abnormal growth of chest muscle, causing development like women breasts. The linguistic origin of the term is traced back to two Greek words ? (i) Gyne that means woman and (ii) Mastos that means breast. Gynecomastia is popularly known as man boobs. Excess chest fat for over exercise or obesity may also cause similar symptoms, though it is known as pseudo-gynecomastia in this case.
Gynecomastia: The Age-group that suffers
Gynecomastia can occur at different life stages of males but is most common among adolescents and older people. It is known to have occurred in newborns due to hormones from the mother also. It is more common in adolescents when hormonal changes occur during puberty. For the same reason it can affect the older and elderly people. If handled properly, it can disappear after the adolescent period.
Gynecomastia: The Reasons
Gynecomastia is caused mainly by hormonal disturbance in the man?s body though it is difficult to speak about the exact root cause of this disease since research is in progress. It is also believed to be genetically oriented. The imbalance of sex hormones like estrogens and testosterone is the main cause of gynecomastia which can be caused by certain drugs or steroids or certain medication too.
Symptoms
The symptoms of gynecomastia are unusual enlargement of breasts. In some the chest area might become tender. Usually it is not painful. The degree of gynecomastia depends on the amount of enlargement.
Gynecomastia: General Problems
Maximum of the Gynecomastia patients suffer from social embarrassment rather than physical illness. The physical disorder may cause lack of confidence by pushing the patients into repeated awkward situations. Even in case of adolescent males, it may become the reason for psychological disorder with frequent banters coming from friends.
Diagnosis
It is generally identified by the physiologists at first with few general tests and examinations. For diagnosis through medical tests, normally blood and urine tests are referred. Another way is testing using mammogram. It is prescribed by an endocrinologist, who specializes in hormonal diseases and its cure.
Treatment and Cure
The condition of Gynecomastia in newborns and teenagers gets corrected naturally though it may take a couple of years to correct the hormonal disorder. There is usually no need for any external treatment. Proper chest fat burner exercises and proper diet are the best cure for reducing chest fats.
There are however many gynecomastia supplements as gynexin alpha formula or ultimate gynemax which can help to treat the disease with medication. The results of using these supplements are visible within two to three weeks; and these also do not cause any side effects. These chest fat burners also do not cause any hazardous outcome. However there are many fraud gynexin companies, so to be safe from them you should purchase it from a trustworthy company.
One can also opt for direct operation instead of using these supplements. The surgery generally operates by reducing the excessive tissues on the chest. There are two types of operations ? (i) Lipectomy suction and (ii) Endoscopy. Though these surgeries generally persist not more than few hours, but it does not become painless. Moreover it can leave visible marks on chest.
Associated diseases
Gynecomastia may not be harmful but in some cases it appears as a symptom for other diseases like breast cancer, adrenal gland tumours, liver diseases, and cancer related to lungs or male organs. In such cases, gynecomastia can be cured only by curing related diseases. Thus you must consult your physician in order to eliminate these possibilities.
