If you are thinking that while in your holidays in Cuba a visit to Pinar del Rio is a must, then you can take a bus or a taxi from Havana to this area. It is located at about 160 kms far from Havana and it only takes about 2 hours drive along the highway. It is not possible to fly directly to Pinar del Rio as there are no airports in this province. If you have a boat then you can arrive to the Marinas in Maria La Gorda and Cayo Levisa.
The most famous and I would also say most beautiful part of Pinar del Rio is Viales Valley. This place has the most amazing mountain formations and most colorful valleys in Cuba. There are few accommodation facilities in the area precisely for not to spoil the natural environment. Among the best are Los Jasmines Hotel, La Ermita and Rancho San Vicente Cottages.
I will always suggest a visit to Pinar del Rio province, mainly if you are the kind of holiday maker that enjoy getting to know a Country from its culture. I would dare to state as well that using few days in your holidays to Cuba to stay in this province will unquestionably be the high light of your holiday experience in Cuba.
